The Millers Bay Neighborhood Association Beautification Committee
is sponsoring a pruning workshop on
Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. in the gym at Emmeline Cook
Elementary School, 1600 Hazel Street. This workshop is part of a three-fold approach to enhance the beauty of the Millers Bay neighborhood. In addition to the pruning workshop, the project includes pruning terrace trees and planting approximately twenty five new trees in the neighborhood. The Tree Project is a collaborative effort between the Beautification Committee, the City Forestry Division and the Planning Services Division.

The upcoming workshop will be taught by three veteran foresters/arborists including Bill Sturm, Oshkosh City Forester, Kim Miller, Winnebago County Horticulture Educator, University of Wisconsin Extension, and Dan Traas, Owner of Ranger Services, Appleton. The speakers will cover the how, when and why and tools needed to properly prune trees and shrubs as well as information about emerald ash bore and City policies related to trees. The seminar will be held rain or shine and concludes with a hands-on pruning demonstration on the Emmeline Cook school grounds so please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing.

The workshop is open to Millers Bay neighborhood residents and all other community members who want to learn about pruning trees and shrubs
